BBCC Developing a Knowledge Centre

Knowledge lies at the heart of any success in global achievement. Rapid assimilation of new knowledge to fuel innovation and new ideas is considered to be the single greatest intellectual force and competitive advantage in the 21st century. Innovation, new ideas is very closely linked to entrepreneurship and business development.

The Chamber recognises that improving business skills and capabilities of our members requires the ongoing analysis of current economic conditions, identifying market trends, strengths and challenges, and seeking out opportunities for members. To this end BBCC will work in partnership with the Bangladesh Brand Forum or BBF who have already established a Knowledge Centre and series of programmes in Dhaka Bangladesh.

The Knowledge Centre will provide and enable access to diverse range of research, intelligence and best practice from businesses and academic institutions in the UK and across the world . It will foster collaboration and stimulate creativity in particular amongst young people and women. The centre will use the state of the art technology to inspire people into the exciting world of entrepreneurship.  Some of the key objectives of the Knowledge Centre include:

  • Promote Entrepreneurship and connecting young people and women to access mainstream opportunities
  • Bridge the gap between Bangladesh Business in UK and Bangladesh
  • Experience Bangladesh – professional, culture, history, cuisine, land and people
  • Knowledge Creation Cell providing customers with information - sector and business specific
  • Identify the key barriers in trade between both countries and share the findings
  • Working in addressing the barriers both in Bangladesh and in UK and sharing business opportunities in Bangladesh and vice versa

The Knowledge centre will play a very close interlink between knowledge and innovation. In addition to, sharing expertise on arranging finance, accessing export markets, marketing, the Centre will also provide a series of lectures from business role models such as Alan Sugar or Richard Branson in the UK to prominent and successful Bangladeshi business people who regularly travel to the UK. In addition, to the obvious economic and wealth generation benefits, of the programme will also play a valuable role in the battle against extremism by eliminating the sense of exclusion and improving life and employment opportunities.

The Chambers success is built on the support of its members and donors. Developing the Knowledge centre is nothing short of providing hope and prosperity for the next generation of entrepreneurs.
