Membership Overview

Membership of BBCC is the gateway of your business information, resources and networking. Bangladesh British Chamber of Commerce offers the following services to the members of the business community:

- BBCC helps its members and other members of the business community to develop trade and investment between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom and other European countries.

- BBCC organises networking meetings for its members and other members of the business community with the Government bodies of the UK and Bangladesh as well as with visiting business delegations from Bangladesh.

- BBCC has its own database of members and can provide business contacts especially in catering and IT to potential investors.

- BBCC offers legal and business advice and business consultancy especially to set up business in catering, garments, crafts and in IT industries including business skills training and certificate on food and hygiene.

- BBCC organises seminars, trade missions and trade fairs for Bangladeshi entrepreneurs to help promote their products in the UK.

Membership Categories

Corporate Membership

Corporate Membership is open to any multi-national company or company actively involved in conducting business between Bangladesh and Britain. Corporate Members are called upon to consider sponsorship of major events in ChamberÕs calendar. Chamber serves corporate members in any way considered appropriate and ensures that their views are accurately represented at Government and inter-Government levels. Corporate members are frequently invited to be active in major Chamber events by supplying speakers and members of delegations. Corporate members should employ more than 50 persons. Corporate members are allowed up to two designated representatives.

Individual Membership

Individual Membership is open to any businessperson, who subscribes to and supports the aims of Chamber. They may come from any background or sector of the business / commercial community. They are expected to play as active a part as possible in the day to day life of Chamber to use their best effort to support Chamber. Chambers serves individuals members by ensuring that their communal views are represented both in the community and at Government and Inter-Government levels. Chamber tries to ensure that as representatives as possible a cross section of the individual membership is included in official delegations.

Individual members are expected to act positively as possible in the recruiting of new members and also contributing their ideas and thoughts to the Board of Chamber.

Individual members are actively encouraged to develop their commercial and personal skills within chamber and to participate in as many events as possible. Individual members receive all Chamber publications plus additional material from time to time as appropriate. Individual members who display exceptional abilities or achievements may be invited to become directors after three years of continuous membership.

Associate Membership

One of the highest accolades Chamber can bestow is that of Associate Membership Š the first being awarded to the Friends of the Centre for the Rehabilitation of Paralysed outside Dhaka in 1998. The award is bestowed after ratification by the board and acknowledges a major contribution to the over all community and the betterment of mankind.
